Webber Island development

Webber Island, in screen capture from “fishing” mode of Garmin BlueChart g3

One of the most significant developments in the islands of eastern Georgian Bay is under way in the Cognashene area, north of Honey Harbour. The east side of Webber Island has been subdivided into 14 lots. All have been sold, and we’re hearing that cottage construction is under way. The plan of subdivision process dates back to 2009, so it’s been a while coming. The U-shaped island is home to an anchorage, Good Harbour, that is popular with cruisers, but with the arrival of so many cottages, it probably won’t remain that way for long.
